White County Historical Society
P.O. Box 1139
Cleveland, GA 30528

Our Mission:

Collect information and artifacts related to people, places and events of White County Georgia and the surrounding area.

Preserve this information and artifacts by providing appropriate space and an accurate means of cataloguing and protecting all items.

Disseminate the information collected by providing educational programs, related displays and exhibits (some permanent) and encouraging White County School System and the public to utilize the museum.

Our Goals:

To give worthwhile public usage to the original White County Courthouse that recognizes and enhances its historical importance.

To exhibit the tools and equipment used by the citizens throughout our history shaped by our heritage, our climate and our terrain:

Primary consideration is to be given to items related to the courthouse:
1. Law and Order
2. Military and Veteran Date
3. Property (Deeds, Taxes, Estate)
4. Birth, Marriage and Death
5. Education
6. Roads, Etc.
7. Public Health

To always have a working plan:
1. Volunteers will understand how their work enhances the organization.
2. Donors will know how their donations, whether money or item, will become part of the continuing heritage of the county.

Anyone interested in historic preservation is invited to become a member of the White County Historical Society. For more information call 706-865-3225.

A proud partner of Cleveland Better Home Town.
